Zusammenfassung

Die Häufigkeit der Dermatomyositis1 war umstritten. Czécowska (1927) für eine Innere Klinik: auf je 4330 Kranke ein Fall; H. Günther (1940):„…unter einem sehr großen Krankengut im Laufe der Jahrzehnte höchstens einige wenige Fälle …“; Giedion (1957) für eine Kanderklinik: zwischen 1950 und 1955 sieben Fälle. — Über die weitaus größten Zahlen verfügen die Dermatologen. Auf einer Dermatologentagung werden 17 Kranke vorgesteht, und zwar nicht in Amerika, sondern in Frankreich. Meine eigene Beobachtungszahl beträgt 34, Gottron verfügte 1949 schon über 50 Beobachtungen, fünf dermatologische Autoren(-Gruppen) 1954 zusammen über 171 Beobachtungen, die Dermatologen der Mayo-Klinik 1956 über 270 (1) “klassische Beobachtungen”. Wer einmal bewußt eine D. beobachtet hat, diagnostiziert sie immer wieder. (Häufige Fußnote bei kasuistischen Mitteilungen: „Inzwischen konnte eine weitere Beobachtung gemacht werden…“) Daher verteilt sich ein großer Teil der Publikationen auf verhältnismäßig wenige Autoren.
