Der Ausstoß der Werften der Welt hat seit 1947 alljährlich zugenommen. Von etwa 1,862 Mill. BRT im Jahre 1947 über 2,482 Mill. BRT im folgenden Jahr, 3,114 Mill. BRT in 1949 und 3,254 Mill. BRT 1950 erreichte er 1951 einen Umfang von 3,557 Mill. BRT, wonach er im folgenden Jahre die 4-Mill.-BRT-Marke überschritt, sich 1953 der 5-Mill.-BRT-Marke näherte und im Jahre 1954 mit 5,450 Mill. BRT eine in Friedenszeiten nicht erreichte Höhe gewann.

Abstract

Since 1947 the output of world shipyards has been improving from one year to the other. The 1947-output covered 1.862 mill. tons gross; 2.482 mill. tons gross were attained in the following year, 3.114 mill. tons gross in 1949 and 3.254 mill. tons gross in 1950. In I95I the tonnage output came up to 3.557 mill. tons gross and crossed in the following year the 4-mill.-tons-gross mark. In 1953 the output was drawing near the 5-miH.-tons-gross mark and reached in 1954 with 5.45O mill. tons gross an unprecedented peace-time climax.
