Zusammenfassung
Für eine zusammenfassende Darstellung von Lerntheorien scheint eine Definition der Begriffe Lernen und Gedächtnis vonnöten. Als Lernen wird übereinstimmend der Erwerb von Informationen bezeichnet, während der Begriff Gedächtnis die Speicherung und die Reproduzierbarkeit dieser Informationen meint. Es zeigt sich allerdings, daß eine Abgrenzung der beiden Begriffe problematisch ist: Das Lernen geht fließend in den Zustand der Speicherung, also des Gedächtnisses, über. Weiterhin ergeben sich erhebliche Schwierigkeiten dabei, einen Lernvorgang zu messen, der noch nicht zu einem Speicherungszustand, also einer Gedächtnisspur geführt hat. In der Regel werden in psychologischen Experimenten zur Erforschung von Lernen und Gedächtnis gelernte und schon gespeicherte Informationen gemessen und zur Theoriebildung von Lerntheorien verwendet.
