Analysis of the Lifetime of Powder Electroluminescent Phosphors

Abstract

It is well known that the luminance of an AC powder electroluminescent (EL) lamp decreases slowly with increasing operating time. Recent advances in phosphor materials (phosphors now exist with useful lifetimes exceeding 10,000 hours) and the countless new applications for powder EL lamps require a new methodology for evaluating the lifetime of EL phosphors.
