Abstract
Recently, SrS:Ce phosphor was actively studied as an emitting layer in thin-film electroluminescence (TFEL) devices, and the host, SrS, seems to be a good material for this use. This paper reports emission spectra and other EL properties of TFEL devices with SrS emitting layers activated with all rare-earth group ions (Ln) except for La, Pm, and Lu. The difference of the emission spectra between the SrS- and ZnS-based devices is discussed in relation to excitation mechanisms.
