Characterization of Isolated Mn2+ Ions in ZnS:Mn Thin Film
In the fabrication of AC thin film electroluminescent devices, annealing in a vacuum after the deposition of anemission layer influences the device characteristics. The deviation of composition and a quantity of isolated Mn2+ ions before and after the annealing have been investigated in ZnS:Mn thin film. Especially, it is clarified by electron spin resonance analysis that annealing increased isolated Mn2+ ions, which contributed electroluminescense. Longer, and high-temperature annealing results in increase of isolated Mn2+ ions. Effects of annealing on the composition of ZnS:Mn thin film is also discussed.
