Abstract

Computer graphics is a powerful tool for interpreting scientific data and the results of computer simulations. This paper provides introductory information about computer graphics for scientists and engineers. Computer graphics terminology is introduced, basic graphics capabilities are described and references to computer graphics literature are provided. Finally, examples demonstrating the appropriateness of supercomputers for certain graphics applications are presented.
