Zusammenfassung

Die erste systematische Vergleichsstudie zum sozialen Netzwerk schizophrener Kranker wurde 1976 von Tolsdorf publiziert. In der Folge kam ein halbes Dutzend weiterer Untersuchungen hinzu, in denen das Netzwerk schizophrener Kranker mit dem von Normalpersonen oder anderen psychiatrischen Patienten verglichen wurde (Serban 1977; Sokolovsky et al. 1978; Garrison 1978; Pattison u. Pattison 1981; Angermeyer u. Lammers 1986; Dohrenwend et al. 1987; Joraschky et al. 1987). Die untersuchten Patientengruppen differierten z.T. beträchtlich im Hinblick auf den soziokulturellen Kontext (das Spektrum reicht von den Bewohnern einer Großstadt in der BRD bis hin zu Frauen aus Puerto Rico, die in der Bronx leben), den Behandlungsstatus (ohne psychiatrische Behandlung gegenüber ambulante oder stationäre Behandlung) und das Stadium der Krankheitskarriere (Erstmanifestation gegenüber langjähriger Verlauf). Trotz all dieser Verschiedenheiten will ich versuchen, die Untersuchungsergebnisse zu einer idealtypischen Beschreibung des sozialen Netzwerks schizophrener Kranker zu kondensieren.
