Abstract
During the first IMIA working conference on primary health care “The Computer in the Doctor’s Office” in 1980 in Hannover one main session was orientated towards “new technologies”. At that time five groups of technologies were identified which might have had a serious impact on the future development:
-
devices for digital optical recording (DOR),
-
systems communication and computer networks,
-
alternative (to keyboard and machine readable forms) i/o-devices (like voice recognition etc.),
-
microcomputers,
-
dedicated systems for biological processing.
