Zusammenfassung
Absicht der vorliegenden Abhandlung ist es, die charakteristischen Merkmale der Alkoholpsychosen zu erörtern. Als erstes werde ich einen Überblick über die bisher bekannten Formen geben. Es sind dies fünf allgemein anerkannte, eigenständige Krankheitsbilder — Delirium tremens, Wernicke-Enzephalopathie, Korsakow-Psychose, Alkoholdemenz und das einfache Entzugssyndrom — und zwei uneinheitliche und kontrovers diskutierte Störungen — Alkoholhalluzinose und Alkoholparanoia. Das klinische Bild, Ursache und Ausgang der fünf erstgenannten Erkrankungen sind i. allg. nicht strittig, die beiden letzteren hingegen waren im Verlauf dieses Jahrhunderts Gegenstand zahlreicher Kontroversen, und daher wird sich der Großteil der Abhandlung mit diesen befassen.
