Abstract
In order to facilitate the task of cytogeneticists two systems have been built: 1. A metaphase finder, called EIDOMAT which can scan a slide at high speed and locate the correct metaphases with a rate of success of about 60%. 2. An image analysis assembly, using interactive data treatment after numerization of the microscopic image, to clear the memory of the improper images or from overlaps. After a propositional karyotype has been displayed a second interactive phase allows operator to correct the karyotype. 3. The future use of a parallel computer PROPAL 2 will enhance the speed of treatment by an important factor.
