Summary

At the invitation of the Nursing Division of the North East Thames Regional Health Authority, a study of community nursing has been undertaken. The objectives of the study were to assess how resources are used, to suggest how resources could be more effectively deployed, to determine indicators of need and to suggest appropriate staffing levels throughout the Region. Implementation of the findings has been achieved in two of the districts surveyed; further implementation is expected in subsequent health districts.
