Abstract

The author has addressed the current state-of-the-art of Medical Information Systems in the United States as we enter the decade of the 80’s. Special emphasis has been placed upon the various classes of information systems with examples in. each category. An attempt has also been made to address the experiences in medical data processing over the past fifteen years with the view towards where we have failed and what we have learned from these early attempts.
