Abstract
Recent trends of criticism directed towards science and scientists are seen as a reaction against certain applications of scientific and technological innovations. Overemphasis of potential hazards in the area of food and drug preparations by certain groups, with the support of mass media, tends, however, to encompass inconsequential issues and may hamper progress.
