Abstract
A systematic mathematical approach to the modelling of complex systems is outlined, indicating some possible lines of research that could contribute to the more effective unification and implementation of these methods. Special consideration is given to ways of achieving stable and desirable homeostatic policies, briefly indicating some possible practical applications.
