Abstract
The paper presents a system-theoretic approach to the reliability theory of an organization. A certain interpretation of basic organizational faults (unstability and uncontrollability) is proposed, and the concept of reliable organization is defined. The use of a fault-tree concept as a tool for analysis of organizational reliability patterns is advocated. The paper introduces also the notion of satisfactory reliability of an organization.
