On the Development of a Twin Exponential Model Fitting Process

Abstract

A model of human ventilation has been developed by means of a second order differential equation with time lag. This paper describes a least squares procedure for estimating the constants of its primitive to an exponentially decaying forcing function. Such models are also encountered in the compartmental analysis of other biological systems.
