The General Practitioner requires a constant flow of information from various sources in order to keep himself up-to-date, to provide his patients with appropriate advice and therapy, and to refer them to other agencies when indicated. Postgraduate education is provided to assist the attainment of those goals but it may not always be directed towards the needs of the individual practitioner.
