Zusammenfassung

Seit dem Erscheinen der ersten Zusammenfassung „Chemie der Vitamine und Hormone“ von A. Winterstein und K. Schön in Bd. 14 der „Ergebnisse“ hat dieses Gebiet eine intensive und erfolgreiche Bearbeitung erfahren. Die Konstitutionsaufklärung und Synthese einer Reibe von Vitaminen und Hormonen haben das Tatsachenmaterial so anwachsen lassen, daß sich die Chemie der Vitamine und Hormone in wenigen Jahren zu einem umfangreichen und vielgestaltigen Gebiet der organischen Chemie entwickelt hat. Demzufolge hat die Literatur so an Breite zugenommen, daß nicht alle Angaben berücksichtigt werden konnten und in der Wiedergabe rein chemischer Fragen eine gewisse Beschränkung notwendig war. Das Biologische ist dem Thema entsprechend kurz gefaßt und nur da ausführlicher behandelt, wo sich Beziehungen zur chemischen Konstitution ergeben haben.
