Synthetic Colouring Materials

  • H. Schweppe

Abstract

Some years ago, mixtures of dyes were separated on alumina which had been strewn in a thin layer on to glass plates. Mottier and coworkers [47, 48] were those who used this procedure most. They employed alcohol-water mixtures as solvents. Lagoni and Wortmann [36] have described a circular technique, likewise on loose layers, for detecting food colorants.
