Abstract

Synthetic pharmaceutical products are classified in this chapter according to their pharmacological activity; within each such class, they are subdivided on the basis of their chemical structure. The chromatography of the naturally occurring substances which are used in a parallel way may be referred to in the relevant chapters of this book. Some overlapping is unavoidable in order to preserve continuity, e. g. in the case of the hypnotically functionating analgesics.
