The Andes Cordillera: A Synthesis of the Geologic Evolution

  • Chapter
Book cover Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes

Part of the book series: Special Publication No. 8 of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits ((MINERAL DEPOS.,volume 8))

Abstract

It has been said that the Andes Cordillera represents one of the most privileged observatories for the geologic sciences, providing both, a natural laboratory for the study of the physical and geochemical processes that change and deform a continent, and the most complete geologic records of the events that took place in the past.
