Social Change and Stress Indicators
It will be the goal of the followup study Saas-Fee to investigate whether or not there is an interaction between social change and stress and how this possible interaction functions in the different phases of the village process. The first cross-sectional study, discussed in the following chapters, describes the state of mental health in 1970. The future cross-sectional studies (e. g., 1980, 1990) will hopefully show to what extent the health situation is modified by further social change. Predictably, the number of stress indicators decreases because the population will have had time for a general readjustment or a better recalibration.
