For centuries rural areas were a symbol of immobility, traditional life, unpretentious contentedness, robust health, and cultural retardation. The lifestyle of yesterday was the lifestyle of today and there was no reason to assume it would change. However, suddenly, to the utter amazement of the inhabitants of these areas, the lifestyle changed, and changed greatly.
