Zusammenfassung

Aus den vorhergehenden Kapiteln dieses Buches ist deutlich geworden, daß es sich bei Schmerzen um ein vielgestaltiges Phänomen handelt, dessen verschiedene Komponenten für Anamnese, Diagnose und Therapieentscheidung herangezogen werden können. Schmerzen kann man analysieren auf der physiologischen Ebene, aus der subjektiven Sicht des Patienten und durch Beobachtung seines Verhaltens (grundsätzliche Erläuterungen hierzu s. Kap. 4 u. 5). Die physiologische Ebene liefert dem Arzt die ersten wichtigen diagnostischen Hinweise; dieser Aspekt ist in anderen Kapiteln dieses Buches eingehend behandelt worden.
