Photochemical stereoisomerization

  • Chapter
Preparative Organic Photochemistry

Abstract

The stereoisomerization of olefinic compounds in light belongs to the longest known and best investigated photochemical reactions. These reactions are of great significance for preparative chemistry since they are in many cases the simplest, in a few cases the only, method by which specific stereoisomers may be synthesized.
