Zusammenfassung
Das in diesem Kapitel erörterte Sinnessystem umfaßt die Hautsensibilität, die Sensibilität der inneren Organe (Visceroception) und die Tiefensensibilität (Proprioception) der Muskeln und Gelenke. Über den Hautsinn stehen wir mit der Außenwelt in Verbindung. Mit dem Tastsinn haben wir gelernt, unsere räumliche Umgebung zu „begreifen“, der Blinde liest mit seinen Fingerspitzen die Blindenschrift ; mit dem Temperatursinn nehmen wir Wärme und Kälte wahr ; mit dem Schmerzsinn (Kap. 10, ab S. 234) erkennen wir potentiell gefährliche Reizeinflüsse. Über die Visceroception erhalten wir Wahrnehmungen aus dem Körperinneren, wie z. B. Völlegefühl, Atemnot, Herzschmerz. Die Proprioception vermittelt uns Wahrnehmungen über Stellung und Bewegung unserer Gelenke.
