Multiple Criteria Decision Making

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems ((LNE,volume 130))

Abstract

The paper develops a methodology for studying R&D decision making and reports some preliminary results from a pilot study. In particular the foci of the study are the following: (1) an investigation of the way certain attributes of a project are combined in forming selection judgments. (2) the identification of the way selection judgments vary as a function of the characteristics of decision makers and their organizations in some product and economic environments; and (3) the development of indices to represent important dimensions of the economic environment.
