Abstract
The percentage of patients surviving primary malignant bone tumors, particularly osteosarcoma and Ewing’s sarcoma, has considerably increased over the past ten years due to chemotherapy. Local results have also been improved by conservative surgery, with en bloc tumor excision with wide margins. The local preoperative assessment therefore is critical before initiating treatment in order to prevent oftenfatal recurrence.
