Zusammenfassung

Die Pathogenese der experimentellen Infektion wird bestimmt durch eine anfängliche Ausbreitung der Brucellen auf dem Lymphwege. Nach Speicherung und Proliferation der Erreger in den regionalen Lymphknoten gelangen diese über die Lymphe in den Blutstrom, wodurch die Milz und verschiedene andere Organe infiziert werden. Die Organmanifestation ist in Abhängigkeit von der Tierspecies unterschiedlich. So wird bei Rindern und Kaninchen der schwangere Uterus bevorzugt infiziert, wobei noch unentschieden ist, ob Progesteron das Eindringen und die Vermehrung der Brucellen im Uterus zu beschleunigen vermag (Payne, 1960; Kniazeff und Elberg, 1964). Nach einer starken Vermehrung der Erreger in den Trophoblasten des Chorionepithels und des Plazentargewebes kommt es zu einer Infektion der foetalen Blutgefäße und der Milz, später auch von Magen sowie Lungen der Foeten und zum Abort (Payne, 1959; Elberg, 1965). Es wird angenommen, daß die intracelluläre Proliferation der Brucellen durch einen vermehrt nachweisbaren Polyalkohol (Erythritol) gefördert (Williams u. Mitarb., 1962), und der Abort durch die Freisetzung von bakteriellen Endotoxinen hervorgerufen wird (Urbaschek u. Mitarb., 1961).
