Zusammenfassung

Seit Rieckes Darstellung des Pemphigus sind auf Grund histologischer, cyto-logischer und elektronenmikroskopiseher Untersuchungen beträchtliche Fortschritte in der Diagnose und Klassifizierung der verschiedenen Arten von Pemphigus gemacht worden. Die Erkennung der Acantholyse als das entscheidende diagnostische Merkmal des Pemphigus durch Civatte im Jahre 1943 hat eine Herausnahme von zwei chronischen blasenbildenden Krankheiten aus der Pem-phigusgruppe zur Folge gehabt, die dann die Bezeichnung Pemphigoid erhielten. Diese zwei Krankheiten sind das bullöse Pemphigoid und das gutartige Schleim-hautpemphigoid. Ein bedeutender Fortschritt ist auch die Einführung der Corticosteroide in die Behandlung des Pemphigus. In vielen Fällen wirkt diese Behandlung lebensrettend.
