Zusammenfassung

Die Begutachtung der Zuckerkrankheit hat das größte praktische Interesse, sowohl was die Voraussetzungen zu ihrer Entstehung, ihrer Verschlimmerung, ihren Folgen und der Bewertung des Grades der damit verbundenen Erwerbsminderung anlangt. Wohl auf keinem Gebiet findet man so widersprechende Urteile wie hier. Für jede Behauptung wurden klinische Beispiele erbracht, die allerdings längst nicht immer beweiskräftig sind und einer wissenschaftlichen Kritik standhalten. Dabei findet man dann oft die Ansichten erfahrener Diabeteskenner zitiert, die sich entsprechend den Wandlungen der Auffassung von der Diabetespathogenese gelegentlich diametral gegenüberstehen. Es war daher sehr verdienstvoll, daß das Bundesministerium für Arbeit (Prof. Dr. Dr. M. Bauer) es 1953 unternommen hat, in einer Aussprache von Autoren mit zunächst besonders differierenden Anschauungen Richtsätze für die praktische Handhabung herauszustellen. Dabei wurde eine weitgehende Angleichung des Standpunktes von Bertram und von Sturm, die zu diesem Zwecke zu Referaten aufgefordert waren, erzielt, also von einem Autor jener Richtung, die den Schwerpunkt auf die Unterwertigkeit der antidiabetogenen Kräfte legt, und einem Anhänger derjenigen, die diabetogene Einflüsse in den Vordergrund stellt.
