Die basale Zellschicht der geschichteten Epidermis wird als stratum germinativum bezeichnet, da sie während des ganzen Lebens Zellen für die Erneuerung der oberflächlichen Hautschichten bereitstellt. Einige Strukturbesonderheiten der Zellen der Keimschicht können in der vorliegenden Aufnahme betrachtet werden.
