Zusammenfassung
Stein und Leventhal beschrieben 1935 ein nach Ihnen benanntes Syndrom (1). Während zur damaligen Zeit die klinischen Aspekte im Vordergrund standen, die zur Beschreibung des „Stem-Leventhal-Syndroms“ führten, so sind es in den letzten Jahren besonders biochemische Befunde bei gleichzeitig vorhandenen polycytisch veränderten Ovarien, die, wenn auch oft widerstrebend, diese Diagnose letztlich bedingen.
