Abstract
A specification method of image processing for remote sensing is discussed using an example, that is SST (sea surface temperature) estimation from NOAA AVHRR data. This method of specification is a representation of data flow of image processing. Coordinate mapping and value mapping are specified independently. This specification is intended to specify the processing for operational use. This specification allows user to use many procedures which are written to implement some knowledge and to retrieve databases. The change of user decision may localized to a specification statement or a procedure. This suffices the requirement of operational use of remote sensing data.
