Abstract

In the early days of computing, obtaining a hard copy of a computer graphics image was relatively easy since virtually all computer graphics images were generated on a pen plotter. Thus the “display” and the hard copy were one in the same. Although it was easy to produce the hard copy, it was often quite time consuming to finally obtain any acceptable results.
