Abstract
From 1953 to 1963 76 cases of chorionic tumors were treated. All patients with invasive mole or chorioepithelioma except one were treated by hysterectomy; 39 of these patients consisting of 11 cases with invasive mole (chorioadenoma destruens) and 28 cases with choriocarcinoma, received chemotherapy postoperatively. Nitrogen mustard N-oxide in a dose of 1 mg/kg per day for 10–20 days was used in 21 patients and it was judged to be effective in 13, but only one of ten patients with metastatic choriocarcinoma showed a good response. Cyclophosphamide in a dose of 2 mg/kg per day for 20–40 days was administered to 15 patients, and 12 of them responded effectively; 2 of 7 patients with metastatic choriocarcinoma had a good response.
