Depressionen und Hirnleistungsstörungen stehen an dritter Stelle der Erkrankungshäufigkeit im höheren Lebensalter. Lediglich kardiovaskuläre und Tumorerkrankungen treten häufiger auf. Depressionen weisen im höheren Lebensalter eine Reihe von Besonderheiten auf (Tabelle 1; 3).
