Abstract
At least three types of regional organizations can be identified in South and Southeast Asia: 1) Regional organizations defined in terms of the management of specific resources (e.g., river commissions, regional seas organizations); 2) Economic-political groupings (e.g., ASEAN, SAARC and, in other regions, EC, OAS); 3) Regional funding organizations, usually regional development banks.
