Simultaneous Preoperative Radiochemotherapy with Cisplatin in Advanced Oral Cavity Carcinomas: Acute Response and Follow-Up

Abstract

In order to test efficiency and feasibility, 136 patients with histologically proven squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity (T2-4 N0-3 M0) were entered from January 1986 to October 1991 into a trial of preoperative simultaneous radiochemotherapy with cisplatin followed by radical surgery. End points of the study were local recurrence and survival.
