Abstract
These lesions are regarded by some as hamartomas rather than true neoplasms. Three different types of osteoma are distinguished: conventional osteoma (“ivory exostosis”), parosteal (juxtacortical) osteoma, and medullary osteoma (bone island or enostoma).
A benign, slowly growing lesion consisting of well-differentiated mature bone, with a predominantly lamellar structure.
