Abstract

The paper describes a method recommended by the National Road Administration to calculate the capacity of minor road approaches and to evaluate traffic conditions. Level of service concepts based on average delay and the reserve capacity have been assumed. The method is based on simulation and empirical studies and on available guidelines. The SBSS computer program is based on the described method.
