Part of the book series: Recent Research in Psychology ((PSYCHOLOGY))

Abstract

During the winter months of 1984–1985 the two of us had the good fortune to participate in a series of informative and stimulating seminars at the Social Psychological Research Center of the University of the Saar, in Saarbruecken, Germany. The main purpose of these informal meetings was to discuss theories about the many ways in which culture affects human behavior, and vice versa. The organizer and leader of these gatherings was Professor Dr. Ernest E. Boesch, the Founding Director of the Center. Participants included several associates of the Center, all of whom had research experience in other cultures, mainly in Africa and Thailand.
