Separated Flows and Jets

Abstract

The response of a two dimensional marginally separated boundary layer to a three dimensional surface mounted obstacle is investigated. Special emphasis is placed on the discussion of the resulting wall streamline pattern. Numerical solutions of the solvability condition which describes the local interaction between the boundary layer and the external inviscid flow are presented for a one parameter family of hills/dents whose height varies slowly in the lateral direction.
