Separated Flows in Diffuser Ducts

Aerodynamic improvement of diffusers permits to increase specific parameters, reliabitity and life of plants and technological devices. The most effective of them are diffusers with preseparated flows and “hybrid” diffusers with vortex cavities which stabilize turbulent separation (1). Some results are given below of dump diffuser improving by turbulent mixing intensification at the initial portion of stream and in the area of flow attachment.
