Summary

In the present environment of the computer aided manufacturing, and in order to penetrate in the computer integrated manufacturing (CIM), it is very interesting to think over the computer assisted quality control or, more precisely, to enter in the computer aided quality system (CAQ). This paper analyses, from a CIM environment perspective and in a general way, the implementation of computer aided quality systems in mechanical components manufacturing environments, which are based in the flexible manufacturing system (FMS) philosophy.
