Abstract
According to the developments performed, the situation reached in the CAD*I Database group is the following:

Two main families of CAD systems are available (see Fig. 8.1):
-
CAD systems (type 1) accessing data stored in the CAD*I Neutral file according to the CAD*I format (TECHNOVISION, PROREN),
-
CAD systems (type 2) accessing data stored in the CAD*I-ORACLE database according to the subset of the CAD*I database schema implemented by the CAD*I Database group (STRIM, TESTBED*, DICAD**)
