Abstract

Suitable cultivars and F1 hybrids are necessary for the successful production of greenhouse tomatoes. For the development of potential cultivars and hybrids certain characteristics should be taken into consideration. These are adaptability to lower light intensity during the autumn-winter period and to low temperatures; resistance to the most harmful pathogens; ability of producing high early and total yields under intensive technology; and responsiveness to greenhouse agrotechnical methods.
