Abstract
The energy separation between B and A-excitons in CdSe equals the longitudinal optical phonon energy and thus allows a fast relaxation of B into A-excitons. The transition is investigated by ps-luminescence and fs-reflection measurements at ~10K and a transition time of 0.9ps is measured. A theoretical estimate yields 0.4ps. B-excitons are bleached by A-excitons as well.
