On-line Measuring of Technological Data of Cold and Hot Rolled Steel Strips by a Fixed Angle Texture-analyzer

Summary

The rm-value has been estimated on-line from the intensities of diffraction peaks of different texture types of sheets in a production line at the Hoesch Stahl AG for several years. For this measuring process it is necessary to find out correlations between intensities of Bragg peaks and the rm-values by laboratory research.

This special on-line rm-value measuring device has been developed up to now into an on-line texture measuring device with which the low order texture coefficient can be measured unconditionally at steel strips up to a thickness of 4 mm. Based on this texture coefficients material properties which depend on the texture can be calculated. These are, for example, mangetic properties or the r(β) value. By means of this research an unconditional on-line texture measuring has been developed from the special on-line rm-value measuring device for different texture types.
